Luci’s not available for the general public yet. But good news: you can help us test the app starting today!
Luci is an app created to help prevent cognitive decline and minimize the effects of Alzheimer’s disease by adopting healthy habits.
Luci will be right there with you every day as you work to adopt and maintain habits that promote brain health: proper nutrition, physical activity and intellectual stimulation.
To help minimize the effects of Alzheimer’s disease
The goal in creating Luci was to promote healthy lifestyle habits that foster more resilient brains to help prevent and lessen the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Luci is based on proven behavioral change theories that target three risk-prevention areas: good nutrition, physical activity and intellectual stimulation.
Today, nearly half a million Canadians are living with some form of dementia.
Sadly, that number grows every year and with it, grows the financial cost of providing adequate healthcare to the people afflicted.
By simply taking part in some form of physical activity every day,
you can help increase your ability to concentrate, improve your reflexes and brighten your mood. Imagine the long-term benefits!
Here’s another simple idea:
eating whole grains helps reduce the risk of obesity, Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, three risk factors for Alzheimer's disease.
If there’s one thing your brain really loves, it’s a change in routine.
By adding the element of surprise and novelty to your daily life, you can help keep your brain active and reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease!
An application rooted in science
Our researchers and scientific committee work hand in hand to further advancements in the understanding and improvement of cognitive health. So, rest assured: our app will undergo a series of clinical validations starting in September 2020. The results will be made accessible to the entire scientific community.
